Despite the importance of family firms for the Czech economy, family business is still a neglected area of research in the Czech Republic and there is no scholarly book devoted to this field. The goal of this book is to review the current state-of-the-art in family business reseach in the world as well in the Czech Republic and to present directions for futher research and implications for practitioners. The book is intended for scholars, students and professionals. Besides introducing the current evidence, it deals with all topics covered the the current family business research area: development of literature in the field, definition of family firms, corporate governance, strategy formulation and content including planning, innovations, internationalization and corporate social responsibility, succession and professionalization issues, conflicts in family firms, and economic performance of family firms.
